Muere en Tuxtla el Doctor Gómez Maza

Gilberto Gómez Maza, quien fuera condecorado en 2008 con el
Premio Chiapas, dejó de existir la madrugada de este viernes a los 62 años de
edad, víctima de una enfermedad terminal.
El cuerpo de político mexicano descansa en una funeraria del
centro de Tuxtla Gutiérrez y, sus restos serán inhumados hoy sábado.
Gilberto Gómez Maza fue uno de los fundadores del Partido de la Revolución Democrático
(PRD) en Chiapas.
Sin embargo, más tarde el 13 de diciembre del año 2000
renunció a su militancia tras denunciar sectarismo en el “sol azteca”.
En las elecciones de 2006, bajo la bandera del Partido
Alternativa Socialdemócrata y Campesina fue candidato al Gobierno de Chiapas.
Su fervor por la política inició desde la adolescencia,
cuando era estudiante de medicina en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
(UNAM).
Durante esta etapa participó activamente en el Movimiento
Estudiantil de 1968, sobreviviendo a la matanza del 2 de octubre enla Plaza de
las Tres Culturas de Tlatelolco.
Su muerte deja un vacío en la medicina y la política de
Chiapas, ya que conjugaba ambos roles en su vida cotidiana.
Aun y con su enfermedad, el doctor Gómez Maza –como era
conocido– siempre vertía opiniones cuando veía alguna injusticia,
principalmente proveniente del Estado.
Se opuso desde la tala de árboles en la circunferencia de su
colonia, hasta el encarcelamiento injusto de algunos luchadores sociales.

30 de julio, el doctor Jesús Gilberto Gómez Maza falleció. Como familia
compartimos su pascua y damos gracias por la vida, testimonio y ejemplo de
nuestro papá.”
“Agradecemos todas
las muestras de cariño, respeto y apoyo que recibimos en esta última etapa de
su vida. Sus familiares y amigos nos reuniremos para acompañarlo en la
funeraria Calas”, versó un agradecimiento de la familia Gómez Pananá.
